Elo Touch Solutions Inc. in Milpitas, CA is looking for a Android Developer to assist in customizing Android operating systems using the Android open-source project to complement Elo devices' hardware architecture and their primary applications, kiosks, POS terminals, digital signage systems, and handheld devices used in retail, hospitality, and medical industries. Customize Android OS to provide better enterprise user experience like Kiosk mode configuration. Remote device management solution integration. Enhance security on Elo devices by integrating the latest Android OS security patches. Work closely with managers and senior software developer to create software development kits (SDKs) that clients use to develop custom applications for Elo devices. Maintain versions, add new features to the SDKs, write and maintain documentation for the SDKs. Develop system privileged APIs for enterprise customers like enable/disable physical buttons on Elo devices, enable/disable USB ports on Elo devices. Provide third party app developers to access over the air OS firmware upgrade support in a secure manner. Assist in developing and maintaining Device Client applications that provide a way to connect remotely and modify settings on Elo devices and remotely control them through Elo's mobile device management (MDM) platform (EloView). Assist in developing device drivers to interface touch controllers, magnetic stripe readers, and credit card readers to digital signage devices and POS terminals. Debug and provide solutions or fix issues reported by customers concerning both software (includes the OS, drivers, and user applications) and hardware (such as USB ports, display ports, and touch screens). Work with cross-functional teams to gather feature requirements and priorities, write and review test cases and report back to manager, and Senior Software developers. Conduct research on improving products and devise ideas to build user-friendly and intelligent touch systems using Machine learning algorithms.

Requirements: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or related discipline, or foreign equivalent and two (2) years of experience in the job offered or closely related position.

Special Requirements: Experience must include the following:

Android app development (2 years)
Programming in Java, Kotlin (2 years)
Working knowledge of Android Open-Source Project (AOSP) (2 years)
Working knowledge of Operating Systems (1 year)
