We are currently hiring an Industrial Engineer.

Position Summary: Join the ever-growing and experienced Engineering team here at Six Sigma as we continue to advance the niche filed of microelectronics soldering. Quantify the effectiveness and identify inefficiencies of our processes that have been cultivated for nearly 40 years. Work with our diverse team, including Quality, Materials, Process, and Automation Engineering, to propose and implement practical solutions to any process problems you encounter, ensuring our products are the highest quality they can be.

Responsibilities:

  • Take charge of streamlining day-to-day operations by:
    • Working directly with production operators and production control to propose and implement process improvements from an operations perspective.
    • Optimizing workflow for operations staff related to data entry, lot tracking and tracing, and scheduling.
    • Assisting Process Engineering and Automation Engineering with both routine and project-based data analysis.
  • Create floor plans to accommodate a variety of new machines both being purchased and built in-house as part of our on-going facility expansion project.
  • Quantify the effectiveness and inefficiencies in our numerous processes by creating and maintaining cost models.

Qualifications:

Education: B.S. in Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Process Engineering, or equivalent.

Experience: Two plus years of experience preferred.

General Requirements:

  • Hands-on experience with data analysis tools and methods.
  • Strong grasp of basic statistical concepts (e.g., standard deviations, cumulative distribution functions, data manipulation, etc.).
  • Experience with coding is a plus.
  • Strong, logical, and creative trouble-shooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Detail-oriented.
  • Fast learner, self-motivated, and accomplishment driven.
  • Ability to work productively in both solo and in a small-team setting.
  • Skilled in use of MS Office computer applications.

Physical Attributes Required:

  • Sitting, standing, walking, and computer use up to 8 hours/day.
  • Manual dexterity and fine motor skills.
  • Physical ability to lift 25+ pounds.

This position requires handling of product or information which is subject to ITAR regulations. Applicants must be either a U.S. citizen or a U.S. Permanent Resident (i.e., a Green Card Holder).
