Arycs Technologies is looking for a strategic Principal Field Application Engineer to lead our customer support activities on high-end coherent optics solutions as well as our optical engine design in activities.

About the Position:

We are looking for an experienced Principal Field Application Engineer to join our Network Systems group. In this role, you will provide expert support during the testing and design phases of our coherent modules, optical engines, and DSPs, working closely with both our customers and internal engineering teams. Additionally, you will take ownership of troubleshooting and resolving post-sales field issues, ensuring effective problem-solving and customer satisfaction.

Requirements:

  • 7+ years of experience in optical communications, with a strong background in coherent DSP, optics, or module-level product integration.
  • Proven experience interfacing with hyperscalers, system OEMs, or module vendors in a customer-facing capacity.

  • Deep understanding of coherent modulation formats, CMIS/SFF, and optical/electrical testing
  • Hands-on experience with test equipment such as BERTs, oscilloscopes, OSA, etc.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to clearly convey complex technical topics.
  • Ability to travel (up to 30%) to customer sites (can be international) and company labs.

Responsibilities:

  • Serve as the technical lead for key customer engagements, driving successful design-in of coherent optical solutions at the module and optical engine level.
  • Work closely with product management and development to address technical issues, support customer qualification efforts, and coordinate lab validation.
  • Support module-level interoperability testing and field trials in customer environments.
  • Develop customer-facing documentation, application notes, and debug guides.
  • Provide on-site support to customers as needed.
  • Conduct hands-on root cause analysis to address design-in issues effectively.
  • Respond to customer tickets and reproduce reported issues in the internal lab to facilitate thorough root cause analysis.
  • Document product deviation reports for alpha samples or early prototypes, ensuring clear communication of findings.
  • Coordinate and set up product demonstrations at tradeshows and Arycs Tech facilities.
  • Define and provide requirements for customer evaluation boards (hardware/software).
  • Manage and develop the stock of WaveCoders to support customer design-in processes effectively.
  • Develop, align, and execute comprehensive customer test plans to ensure optimal product performance.
