Your role As an Occupational Therapist (OTR), you will be instrumental in guiding patients through their recovery journey. Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Developing and implementing individualized treatment plans in accordance with physician orders.

  • Providing direct patient care and supervising Occupational Therapy Assistants, adhering to the state practice act.

  • Documenting evaluations, progress notes, and other required information accurately and timely, complying with regulatory standards.

  • Collaborating with the interdisciplinary healthcare team (supervisor, nurses, other therapists) to ensure comprehensive and coordinated patient care.

  • Participating in patient care conferences, utilization review meetings, and rehabilitation conferences.

  • Training nursing staff and patient families on restorative programs and caregiver techniques for a smooth transition to home.

  • Recommending and facilitating the acquisition of necessary durable medical equipment (DME) to promote patient independence.

  • Participating in discharge planning to ensure a safe and successful return to the highest possible level of function.

  • Assisting with in-service training programs for other staff within the facility.

  • Ensuring department equipment is maintained in good working order by reporting any issues promptly.
