Summary:
The Build Process Manufacturing Engineer role is to process and plan a job from beginning to end utilizing resources within the company and to maintain in the budget and schedule.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Material ordering within specifications required by the customer.
- Create and/or revise 3D designs and/or 2D drawings in accordance with internal requirements, customer requirements, or a blend of both.
- Measure detail in CAD data, record, and double check accuracy.
- Communication with Operations and/or key stakeholders to discuss manufacturing concerns and provide solutions to ensure efficiency.
- Oversee key projects, processes, data, and analysis.
- Exhibits knowledge around affordability, continuous improvement, process improvement and root cause corrective action.
- Actively participates as a member of a cross functional Integrated Process Team.
- Evaluate released design packages to develop manufacturing plan, work instructions and manufacturing bill of materials.
- Review estimate and budgeted hours, then develop work breakdown structure and apply standard hours to discreet work centers.
- Reconcile Bill of Materials (BOM) against open orders to validate the appropriate needs are being achieved to support manufacturing.
- Participate on shop floor to validate work instructions, bills of material and process specifications.
- Works with both internal and external contacts, and often represent the organization in developing solutions to complex technical issues.
- Host meetings to plan execution of build plan on a job-to-job basis.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Education and Work Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or similar field preferred.
- Five years prior work experience in a tooling/manufacturing environment in the aerospace industry required.
- CAD software knowledge required.
- CATIA V5, NX, or Equivalent software knowledge (Solidworks, Pro E, etc.)
Work Authorization/Security Clearance Requirements:
- This position may require a government security clearance.
