Director, Project Management — Direct Hire | Alpharetta, GA (4 days/week onsite)

Also open to candidates based in Glen Allen, VA; Minneapolis, MN; or Greenwich, CT (5 days/week onsite in Greenwich).

You’ll join a leading specialty insurance organization as it scales its Project Management Office to meet rising demand. In this individual-contributor Director role, you’ll own enterprise-wide, large, complex technology and data transformation initiatives — including target operating model design — partnering directly with business units rather than managing a team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead large-scale technology and data transformation projects from initiation through delivery
  • Design and implement target operating models in partnership with business unit leaders
  • Partner cross-functionally across operating units to align project scope, risk, and outcomes
  • Manage project budgets, timelines, and stakeholder communication at the enterprise level
  • Identify and resolve risks and roadblocks before they impact delivery
  • Travel to client/business sites as needed to support project execution (25–75%, project-dependent)
  • Represent the PMO in executive-level project reviews and steering committees

Required Qualifications

  • Proven ownership of large-scale technology and/or data transformation projects
  • Direct experience building and implementing target operating models
  • PMP or Lean Six Sigma certification
  • US Citizenship (no visa sponsorship available for this role)

Nice-to-Have Qualifications

  • Insurance or financial services industry experience
  • Experience partnering with business units in a matrixed, non-people-management capacity

Tools & Environment

  • Enterprise PMO tooling and reporting for large transformation programs
  • Cross-functional collaboration across multiple business units and geographies

Ideal Candidate Profile

You operate with autonomy, anticipate issues before they escalate, and bring structure to ambiguous, enterprise-scale problems. You’re comfortable owning outcomes without a direct reporting team, and you build trust quickly with business partners at every level.
