Brief DescriptionÂ
The Retrofit and Upgrade (R&U) Sales Manager is responsible for driving growth and profitability throughÂ
the identification, development, and execution of retrofit, upgrade, modernization, and replacementÂ
opportunities for air pollution control systems and equipment. This role combines strategic businessÂ
development, technical solution selling, and account management responsibilities to support both existingÂ
customers and new business opportunities.Â

Key Responsibilities Â
Sales and Business DevelopmentÂ
• Identify and pursue retrofit, upgrade, expansion, replacement, and aftermarket opportunitiesÂ
across the company's installed equipment base and target accounts.Â
• Generate new business opportunities through prospecting, networking, industry events, referrals,Â
and market analysis.Â
• Build and maintain a robust sales pipeline and accurately forecast sales activity and bookings.Â
• Lead the sales process from opportunity identification through proposal development, contractÂ
negotiation, and order closure.Â

Account ManagementÂ
• Develop and maintain strong relationships with existing customers, including environmentalÂ
managers, plant managers, maintenance personnel, project engineers, and procurement teams.Â
• Collaborate with engineering teams to define project scope, technical requirements, and solutionÂ
strategies.Â
• Conduct regular customer visits to evaluate equipment performance, identify improvementÂ
opportunities, and promote company solutions.Â
• Serve as a trusted advisor on emissions compliance, operational challenges, equipmentÂ
reliability, and process optimization.Â
• Support customer retention initiatives through proactive engagement and value-addedÂ
recommendations.Â

Technical Solution SellingÂ
• Evaluate existing air pollution control systems and recommend technical solutions to improveÂ
performance, efficiency, capacity, and regulatory compliance.Â
• Prepare and deliver technical presentations, proposals, and return-on-investment analyses.Â
• Review customer specifications, process data, and operating conditions to develop tailoredÂ
upgrade and retrofit solutions.Â
• Participate in site evaluations, performance assessments, and troubleshooting activities.Â
Â
Proposal and Project SupportÂ
• Coordinate with estimating, engineering, procurement, and project management teams toÂ
develop accurate and competitive proposals.Â
• Assist in project risk assessment, contract review, and scope definition activities.Â
• Support project kickoff and customer handoff processes following project award.Â
• Monitor project progress and maintain customer communication to ensure satisfaction andÂ
identify future opportunities.Â

Market and Industry DevelopmentÂ
• Track emerging technologies, competitive offerings, industry trends, and environmentalÂ
regulations impacting customer operations.Â
• Identify markets and industries with high potential for retrofit and upgrade opportunities.Â
• Provide market intelligence and customer feedback to leadership and product developmentÂ
teams.Â
• Represent the company at industry conferences, trade shows, and customer events.Â
Sales AdministrationÂ
• Maintain accurate customer records, opportunity tracking, and forecasting within the CRMÂ
system.Â
• Prepare monthly sales reports, pipeline updates, and business development plans.Â
• Manage sales activities in accordance with company policies and procedures.Â

Qualifications (Required) Â
• Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Engineering, Environmental Science, Business, or a related technicalÂ
field.Â
• Minimum of 5 years of industrial sales experience, preferably within air pollution control, environmentalÂ
equipment, process industries, or related technical markets.Â
• Demonstrated success in selling retrofits, upgrades, aftermarket services, replacement equipment, andÂ
modernization projects.Â
• Strong understanding of industrial manufacturing processes and environmental complianceÂ
requirements.Â
• Experience developing technical proposals and negotiating commercial agreements.Â
• Proficiency with CRM systems and Microsoft Office applications.Â
• Ability to travel to domestic and international sites (typically 20-30%).Â
Â
Other Valued Experience, Knowledge, Skills & Abilities (Preferred) Â
• Project Management Professional (PMP), Engineer-In-Training (EIT), or Professional Engineer (PE)Â
certification a plus.Â
• Working knowledge of AutoCAD and SAPÂ
• Experience in Air Quality Control Technologies (ESP’s, BHF, scrubbers, etc.)
