This position is a key member of the growing Wealth Management Solutions team at BSNB.

A DAY IN THE LIFE OF THE VICE PRESIDENT, TRUST OFFICER

The Trust Officer is responsible for the administration, management, and oversight of personal and fiduciary accounts in accordance with governing documents, applicable laws and regulations, bank policies, and the highest standards of fiduciary responsibility. The Trust Officer develops and maintains strong relationships with clients, beneficiaries, attorneys, accountants, financial advisors, and other professional partners.

This position serves as a trusted advisor to clients and works collaboratively with the bank's Wealth Management team to identify opportunities to provide comprehensive financial, investment, estate, and fiduciary services while always acting in the best interests of the client and beneficiaries.


Essential Functions

  • Administer trust, estate, agency, guardianship, and other fiduciary accounts in accordance with governing documents and applicable laws and regulations.
  • Develop and maintain strong, long-term relationships with clients, beneficiaries, attorneys, accountants, financial advisors, and other professional advisors.
  • Serve as a primary point of contact for assigned trust and estate clients and respond promptly and professionally to questions and requests.
  • Review trust documents, wills, estate plans, account agreements, and other legal documents to determine the bank's responsibilities and obligations.
  • Monitor account activity, distributions, tax requirements, and other fiduciary matters.
  • Coordinate with attorneys, accountants, executors, beneficiaries, and other parties involved in estate and trust administration.
  • Review and approve discretionary distributions in accordance with governing documents and bank policy.
  • Develop relationships with attorneys, CPAs, financial advisors, business owners, and other centers of influence.
  • Generate referrals for trust, estate, investment management, and other Wealth Management services.
  • Participate in client and prospect meetings.
  • Assist in preparing proposals and presentations for prospective clients.
  • Support the overall growth and profitability of the Wealth Management division while maintaining appropriate fiduciary standards.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in trust administration, estate planning, wealth management, banking, financial services, with a demonstrated understanding of fiduciary principles and financial concepts required.
  • Demonstrated track record to manage multiple client relationships and priorities effectively required.
  • CTFA, CFP®, CFA, JD, CPA, or other relevant professional designation preferred.
  • Experience with investment management and portfolio review.
  • Excellent interpersonal and client-service skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to exercise sound judgment and maintain confidentiality.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Bachelor's degree in finance, business, accounting, economics, or a related field; equivalent experience may be considered.
