Job Details

The Department of Speech-Language Pathology at Thomas Jefferson University invites applications for a full-time faculty position in our newly developing Speech-Language Pathology Program. The program offers the degree of Master of Science in Speech-Language Pathology, incorporating the academic, clinical, and research experiences necessary to prepare students for entry level practice as speech-language pathologists. The program is located on the Center City Campus in Philadelphia.

The Department of Speech-Language Pathology is an integral part of the Jefferson College of Rehabilitation Sciences (JCRS) which also includes the departments of Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy and Athletic Training.  The programs within JCRS reflect the University’s commitment to educate future healthcare professionals of the highest quality and ethical standards for contemporary practice in the global community.  The College is committed to a culture of clinical excellence through collaborative education and practice, innovative teaching, integrated experiential learning and evidence-base practice.

Job Description

PhD or EdD in Speech-Language Pathology or related field is preferred however applicants who are ABD are also encouraged to apply. Current ASHA Certification and eligibility for licensure as a speech-language pathologist in Pennsylvania are required.

Expertise in one or more of the following areas is preferred: swallowing disorders, voice disorders, neurogenic speech disorders or motor speech.  The successful candidate will possess a documented record of scholarship and excellence in teaching.

 

This position is a 12- month full-time appointment.  Salary and rank are commensurate with experience.
