Job Summary

We are seeking an EV Electrical Design Engineer to join the Current Product Vehicle Engineering team. In this role, you will support vehicles in the field, troubleshoot and resolve electrical system issues, and help deliver a world-class customer experience. You will also contribute to the design and development of motorcycle electrical systems and components that deliver industry-leading performance and rider experience. This position offers a hybrid work environment with access to our world-class product development facilities.

Responsibilities

  • Diagnose and resolve field and production electrical issues using analytical problem-solving methods. 
  • Utilize diagnostic tools, CAN analysis, and electrical test equipment to support development and troubleshooting. 
  • Design, develop, troubleshoot, and improve motorcycle electrical and electronic systems. 
  • Perform hands-on testing and evaluation of electrical systems, controllers, sensors, and wiring harnesses. 
  • Provide electrical engineering support for manufacturing and continuity of production. 
  • Support continuous improvement of vehicle electrical performance, reliability, and quality. 
  • Improve warranty performance through root cause analysis and corrective actions. 
  • Develop and execute electrical and electro-mechanical test procedures. 
  • Mentor teammates and contribute to a strong engineering culture. 
  • Leverage Harley-Davidson test labs, proving grounds, and development resources to deliver high-quality vehicle performance. 

Education Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science Degree in Electrical Engineering, or relevant technical discipline.

Qualifications

  • Passion for problem solving with strong technical communication skills and the ability to collaborate with local and remote teams. 
  • Demonstrated knowledge of engineering analysis, calculations, and electrical circuits. 
  • Proven ability to solve complex electrical design problems in a fast-paced team environment. 
  • Experience with EV controls software and familiarity with battery systems, power electronics, and electric motor fundamentals preferred. 
  • Experience using CAN tools for diagnostics and troubleshooting is preferred. 
  • Hands-on bench and vehicle electrical testing experience preferred.
