Merjent, Inc. is looking for a driven Engineering Technician to join our growing team. You will partner with engineers and project managers to develop plans, specifications, CAD drawings, and design documentation for energy projects spanning gas and electric transmission, wind, solar, and more. This role is hands-on and impactful, supporting project delivery by tackling engineering tasks and helping navigate challenges along the way.
This is a full-time benefits eligible opportunity that can be based anywhere in the US. The anticipated annual salary for this position is between $82,300 and $114,200 annually, depending upon qualifications and experience. This position is also bonus eligible.
This position may require occasional travel based on project needs.

- Use computer-aided design (CAD) software to create and modify technical drawings.
- Assist engineers in developing designs, reports, exhibits, and construction documentation.
- Quickly collect data and analyze results from multiple sources, sometimes with limited information.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support separate services and innovative initiatives.
- Keep detailed records of test results, procedures, and other technical documentation.
- May require some limited field time as required.
- Perform other duties as assigned.

qualifications and experience
- Associate's degree in engineering or a related field.
- 5-10+ years of relevant experience.
- Previous experience or training with Autodesk Civil 3D CAD software and GIS (ArcMap).
- Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, Outlook).
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and schematics.
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work in a team environment.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills with the ability to write descriptive and technically accurate specifications and reports.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Must have a valid driver's license with a good driving record.
