Description
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented CNC Machinist to join our team. Under the direction of the Production Supervisor, the CNC Machinist will set up, adjust, and operate a variety of departmental machinery, including horizontal and vertical mills, lathes, presses, and grinders, to manufacture high-precision machine parts. This position plays a critical role in ensuring that all parts meet tight tolerance specifications and quality standards.Â
Requirements
- Read and interpret blueprint specifications to determine procedures and sequences of operations.
- Set up, adjust, and operate machine tools with limited supervision.
- Perform complex machine setups and critical machining operations.
- Position and secure workpieces and tools accurately.
- Operate various hand tools and machine tools to perform finishing work and adjustments.
- Use precision measuring devices to ensure conformance to specifications.
- Examine surfaces for defects and perform necessary corrections.
- Sharpen cutting tools as needed.
- Troubleshoot and resolve operating, material, and tooling issues.
- Perform preventive maintenance on tools and equipment.
- Complete all required documentation and paperwork accurately.
- Follow all safety, quality, sanitation, and housekeeping standards.
Qualifications:
- Education/Experience: 1–3 years of skilled trades training in machine tool operations, plus 1–2 years of related work experience.
- Language Skills: Ability to read blueprints, operating manuals, and maintenance instructions. Must be able to communicate effectively with team members.
- Math Skills: Proficiency in basic arithmetic, including fractions and decimals. Ability to compute rates, ratios, and percentages.
- Reasoning Ability: Capable of understanding and carrying out instructions delivered in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to solve problems involving multiple variables in standardized situations.
Physical Requirements:
- Regularly required to stand, handle objects, tools, or controls with hands.
- Frequently required to walk and communicate.
- Occasionally required to sit, reach above shoulder level, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, or crawl.
- Must be able to frequently lift up to 50 lbs and occasionally up to 100 lbs.
