2nd Shift Supervisor
Summary:
We are seeking to hire a 3rd Shift Production Supervisor. The right candidate will have experience managing a team within the corrugating or paper industry.
Key Responsibilities:
- Responsible for the performance of production employees
- Responsible to provide direct leadership and supervision to the employees on shift and to set an example for all employees of the plant.
- Provide mentoring and coaching to ensure employee development.
- Monitor and manage raw materials, inventories, and production schedules.
- Maintain shift coverage schedule of Production Employees, including vacation management, and communicate to employees when they are required to work.
- Identify incidents/accidents/near misses and communicate through submittal of incident investigation form.
- Address corrective action as identified
- Responsible for ensuring compliance with all corporate policies, procedures, and requirements.
- Follow-up on all production activities.
- Responsible for ensuring that all employees follow the product specific SOP’s
- Maintain clean and organized production, site and office area.
- Guide employee performance and development using daily communication and annual performance evaluations.
- Utilize progressive discipline as required to enforce company policy.
- Must help on the floor when needed
- Enthusiasm for being an active part of a safety-first work environment.
- Coordinate with maintenance department to ensure that all repairs are made timely and that the necessary preventive maintenance is performed as necessary to keep plant operational.
- Continuously evaluate, recommend, and implement improvements to the plant processes and facilities working closely with the Plant Manager and Operations Manager.
- Works with other staff members to maintain workload balances. Provides back-up support.
Qualifications:
- Previous Corrugating experience STRONGLY preferred.
- 3+ years of experience managing a team in a Production/Manufacturing environment.
- Must have excellent supervisory and leadership skills in an organic manufacturing environment.
- Must have communication and interpersonal skills, along with the ability to read, write, and speak English.
- Strong attention to safety and detail.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and as part of a team.
