Description
Stratus Industries is seeking a CNC Programmer with a strong focus on programming, toolpath strategy, andÂ
process optimization. This role is responsible for developing and refining CNC programs using VCarve, FusionÂ
360, and AutoCAD, while also supporting setup and operation as needed. We’re looking for someone who understands the full machining process and takes ownership from programming through production. This is not an operator-only position.
Requirements
What You’ll Do:
• Develop, modify, and optimize CNC programs using VCarve, Fusion 360, and AutoCAD
• Write and edit G-code to improve performance and cycle timesÂ
• Interpret blueprints, CAD files, and design specs to create accurate toolpathsÂ
• Select tooling, speeds, and feeds based on material and applicationÂ
• Set up CNC machines, including tooling, fixturing, and offsetsÂ
• Run first articles and prove out programs, making adjustments as neededÂ
• Troubleshoot programming and machining issues to minimize downtimeÂ
• Collaborate with production to improve workflows and efficiencyÂ
• Maintain organized program documentation and revisionsÂ
• Ensure quality standards and safety protocols are consistently metÂ
What We’re Looking For:
• 2–5+ years of CNC programming experience (router and/or mill preferred)Â
• Proficiency in VCarve, Fusion 360, AutoCAD, or similar CAD/CAM softwareÂ
• Strong understanding of G-code and machining fundamentals
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawingsÂ
• Experience with machine setup and operationÂ
• Detail-oriented, self-driven, and solutions-focusedÂ
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced, hands-on environmentÂ
Preferred Experience:
• CNC router experience (wood, plastics, composites, etc.)Â
• Job shop or high-mix, low-volume productionÂ
• Experience optimizing toolpaths for efficiency and material yieldÂ
• Basic CAD design or modeling experienceÂ
