Job Duties:

Reporting to the Divisional Finance Officer, the Financial Manager supports the Division of Strategic Enrollment Management and Student Success by managing divisional budgets, assisting with financial planning and analysis, and providing leadership in financial reporting and compliance. 

Key Job Responsibilities:

  • Support procurement and travel processes. 

  • Assist with grant and gift fund monitoring, including pre- and post-award processes.

  • Prepare monthly reports and financial statements.

  • Contribute to proposal development for external funding.

  • Audit financial transactions and authorize payments. 

  • Provide troubleshooting and support for financial systems.

  • Coordinate data management, budget preparation, and financial reporting.

  • Assist in managing financial activities across SEMSS departments. Serve as the Lead Worker for SEMSS financial staff and department clients.

  • Ensure compliance with fiscal policies and procedures.

  • Evaluate funding strategies and make recommendations for enhancement.

  • Serve as subject matter expert on financial operations and recommend process improvements.

Required Qualifications:

  • Associate’s degree or higher in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field; or commensurate experience.
  • At least three (3) years of progressively responsible experience in financial management, budgeting, or accounting.
  • Experience in financial reporting and data analysis.
  • Demonstrated understanding of budget preparation and management.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in finance, Accounting, Public Administration, or related discipline. 
  • Demonstrated experience in financial management in a higher education setting.
  • Experience with grant and gift fund management. 
  • Demonstrated proficiency in financial software and systems (e.g., MS Excel, Workday, PowerBI, Tableau). 
  • Experience with university procurement and travel systems. 
  • Experience advising or training staff on financial systems. 
  • Excellent communication skills, as evidenced by application materials and interview(s).

Education:

Associate’s degree or higher in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field; or commensurate experience.
