The foreman is responsible for overseeing the work of Family Environment Specialists who maintain the Archdiocesan cemetery grounds and facilities. The Operations Manager is also involved in developing and maintaining processes and procedures streamlining operational efficiencies and improving safety across all cemetery location.
The foreman will demonstrate by example, CFCS’s Core Values–Share the Journey, Serve with Care, and Make It Happen–in all their dealings with families, staff, and internal/external contacts.
Reporting to the Director of Cemeteries, the Operations Manager interacts with other FESs, Location Managers, Family Service Advisors, Outreach employees, and other location personnel and departments.
Education and Experience

  • College degree preferred, and/or 5 years working as a grounds keeper or landscaper
  • 2-3 years of experience operating heavy equipment and using power/hand tools
  • 1-2 years of supervisory experience
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Knowledge of the Catholic faith, rituals, and traditions
  • Safety-oriented, including use of PPE, equipment safe guards, and safe practices
  • Able to assess health, safety, and environmental conditions in accordance with regulatory standards, identify hazardous conditions, and develop preventative action plans that reduce hazardous and noncompliant situations
  • Ability to investigate accidents and incidents, identify causes, and implement corrective and preventative actions
  • Ability to manage operational deadlines, work orders, and burials as scheduled
  • Able to perform equipment maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair
  • Lift and carry objects weighing between 100-150 lbs.; push or pull up to 300 lbs. on a wheeled cart; work outdoors in all types of weather conditions
  • Proficient in the use of computers, software, and technology

Licenses and Certifications
Valid state issued driver’s license, good driving record, and proof of insurance is required
