Job Summary

  • The Quality & Testing Technician is required to conduct final assembly operations including mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic assembly using hand and power tools, prints, schematics, manuals, and photos.
  • The Quality & Testing Technician will perform inspections, testing, troubleshooting, and repairs while operating various models of new and used equipment.
  • The team member will be a key communicator with coworkers being clear and professional while performing all the job duties.
  • Will properly prepare both written and electronic documentation pertaining to the quality and operations of product models for inspection.
  • The Quality & Testing Technician in conjunction with the quality manager will facilitate data collection from both internal and external customers, analyze through metrics for various types of Quality reporting
  • Support/lead Vector's corrective action process for both warranty and manufacturing related issues
  • With support from the Quality manager the team member will develop standard work, policies, and processes required to elevate performance in line with industry and customer expectations.
  • The Quality Technician will work both individually with limited supervision as well as in a team environment.
Responsibilities
  • Safely use power and hand tools as well as industrial equipment while assembling various models of product.
  • Assist co-workers in troubleshooting, repairing, and finishing units to meet production schedules.
  • Identify deficiencies in the operations of all models of products.
  • Identifies materials, parts and supplies needed to complete a repair in a safe and efficient manner.
  • Must be able to, or learn to safely drive and operate Vector trucks and equipment of all models.
  • Perform Quality Control Processes to ensure units are performing properly before the unit ships.
  • Follows prints and schematics as well as technical manuals and written and spoken instructions.
  • Use electrical and mechanical aptitude as well as critical thinking to drive continuous improvement efforts in work instructions, documentation, and processes.
Qualifications
  • A High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Previous experience in large trucks/heavy machinery service and repair setting is strongly preferred.
  • Relevant Experience: 5-8 Years preferred.
  • Previous experience with electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic equipment is required.
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team, multitask, diagnose, test, troubleshoot various mechanical, hydraulic, water, and electrical systems is required.
  • Previous experience with Quality Control, Audits, Process Improvement is preferred.
