The Retirement Client Advisor generates new business opportunities and manages a customer portfolio defined in the business plan. This involves being the primary contact for new or existing customers, presenting formal product proposals, and maintaining ongoing prospects for new business development.  This role focuses on building customer relationships and gaining loyalty by listening and responding to customers’ needs. Â

How you'll spend your time:Â
- Delivers exceptional service in managing his/her book of business and building client relationshipsÂ
- Partners with internal Portfolio Management and Research to fully understand market narrative, manager selection and monitoring, strategy decisions, and effectively communicate recommendationsÂ
- Regularly meets with clients for on-going plan/investment reviewsÂ
- Educates and communicates with clients about market conditions, plan/account investments, performance, strategy, changes in regulatory or tax environment, and other factors which may influence plan decisionsÂ
- Provides consultation to plan sponsors on the development of a participant education program to support the client’s objectivesÂ
- Facilitate or deliver participant education and adviceÂ
- Creates and maintains networking relationships to create a pipeline of businessÂ
- Achieves annual new business revenue goals for assigned accounts and/or territoryÂ
- Maintains client information in a CRM toolÂ
- Understands the benefits of products and effectively differentiate UMB's Retirement Services from the competitionÂ
- Provides interdisciplinary expertise to clients when needed while partnering with bank leadership and other departmentsÂ
- Performs other duties as assigned.Â

- You have a Bachelor’ Degree in Business Administration/Management, Finance or related field or  equivalent work experienceÂ
- 5-7 years in the financial services industry with a minimum of 3 years specific experience in a sales roleÂ
- Broad knowledge of financial markets, asset allocation principles, and financial productsÂ
- Experience in investment manager selection and monitoring a plusÂ
- Prior experience with DC retirement plans and understanding of regulations related to ERISA, DOL, and IRSÂ
- Solid understanding of plan design, compliance and testing, and industry standardsÂ
- Good written/verbal communication, organization and client service skillsÂ
- Ability to maintain professional working relationships with internal and external clientsÂ
- Ability to interpret documents and resolve technical problemsÂ
- Critical thinking and problem-solving skills to identify and recommend appropriate follow-up actionÂ

Compensation Range:
$141,354 - $207,900The posted compensation range on this listing represents UMB’s good faith and reasonable estimate based on its budget and what it expects to be the starting pay for this role, but the actual compensation may vary by geographic location, experience level, and other job-related factors.
