PURPOSEĀ
The SMC Sales Development Program is a sales development program designed to provide training on our extensive product line,Ā proficiencyĀ of our corporate sales strategies, familiarity of our manufacturingĀ methods,Ā andĀ competencyĀ ofĀ ourĀ internalĀ supportĀ processes.Ā ThisĀ isĀ anĀ entry- levelĀ outside sales position at SMC, withĀ ample opportunityĀ for growth once at the branch.Ā
The SMC Sales Development Program training is both classroom-based and hands-on, accommodating the varied learning styles of trainees. Unlike other sales training programs, the SMC Sales Development Program providesĀ training through work-experience; youĀ will spend timeĀ with each of SMCās departmentsĀ workingĀ and building relationships throughoutĀ yourĀ time at headquarters.Ā These cross-departmentalĀ relationshipsĀ andĀ knowledgeĀ willĀ makeĀ youĀ invaluableĀ toĀ customersĀ while in the field.Ā

ESSENTIALĀ DUTIESĀ
The Sales trainee will receive training that ranges from sales skills development and corporateĀ cultureĀ toĀ SMCās applications,Ā product line,Ā andĀ target industriesĀ served. They willĀ learnĀ aboutĀ salesĀ strategy,Ā marketingĀ andĀ manufacturingĀ productionĀ andĀ orderĀ fulfillment. Specifically, the trainee willĀ be requiredĀ toĀ participateĀ in the following training activities:Ā
During theĀ 12 weeksĀ in training, participants develop sellingĀ skills, learn SMC target industries, the SMC productĀ lineĀ and its applications, andĀ beyond.Ā Importantly, there is extensive training on our product line and its applications in the manufacturingĀ environment.Ā Ā
- ActivelyĀ participateĀ inĀ learningĀ activitiesĀ whichĀ demonstrateĀ salesĀ operationsĀ and supply chainĀ functionality
- CompleteĀ writtenĀ andĀ practicalĀ trainingĀ inĀ supplyĀ chainĀ policyĀ andĀ procedures
- ActivelyĀ participateĀ inĀ learningĀ theĀ activitiesĀ ofĀ aĀ technicalĀ supportĀ role
- CompleteĀ basicĀ pneumaticsĀ trainingĀ andĀ otherĀ technicalĀ trainingĀ asĀ directedĀ byĀ SMC sales management
- ReviewĀ productĀ catalogsĀ &Ā manualsĀ toĀ gainĀ aĀ basicĀ understandingĀ ofĀ SMCĀ product
- WorkĀ withĀ ourĀ internalĀ supportĀ teamĀ toĀ learnĀ howĀ toĀ demonstrateĀ ābestĀ inĀ classā customer support
- PartnerĀ withĀ experiencedĀ SMCĀ salesĀ professionalsĀ onĀ customerĀ &Ā distributorĀ visits
