ERM is seeking a Managing Consultant, EHS with industry experience to join our growing Sustainable Operations team. The ideal candidate will bring strong environmental, health, and safety regulatory compliance and at least 5 years of industry and/or consulting experience to help our clients proactively address their sustainability and EHS risks and challenges. As a senior leader, you will be responsible for supporting on a range of EHS management projects to build a sustainable business locally, while networking with ERM's global technical team to share best practices across the industry. Role is open to any candidates in New England, the Northeast or the Midwest. Responsibilities include supporting development and implementation of EHS Management Systems, compliance assessments and audits to ensure effective risk control and regulatory compliance; managing multiple projects within scope/budget/schedule expectations and ensuring quality standards on project deliverables; performing EHS compliance audits and implementing follow-up corrective actions; developing, managing, and implementing environmental management systems and programs; managing plans, permits, and procedures for air quality, hazardous waste, spill prevention, storm water, and wastewater; developing and expanding client relationships; providing on-site compliance support; delegating project assignments and mentoring junior staff; contributing to expanding ERM’s EHS business; designing and directing corporate EHS strategies and programs; leading, managing performance, hiring and mentoring personnel; building client relationships and nurturing repeat business. Requirements include a Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in engineering, environmental science, safety, business administration, or related discipline or 8+ years related experience; at least 5 years (7+ preferred) relevant experience in EHS management, leadership/culture, and/or sustainable EHS compliance programs; proficiency in technical Safety and/or Environmental areas; experience maintaining corporate management standards; project management experience; ability to multi-task, travel, and work independently; passion for EHS performance improvement; excellent communication and analytical skills; valid driver’s license and willingness to travel up to 40%; certification such as CSP, PE, CHMM highly desirable.
