3rd shift 11:00pm to 7:30am Sunday night throygh Thursday night

Pay Range

$25.30 - $37.95

Major Responsibilities:
  • Performs and assists with routine, non-skilled repairs such as but not limited to minor carpentry and plumbing (unplugging sinks, drains, etc.), changing light bulbs, and changing filters.
  • Maintains equipment in good working order and makes minor repairs.
  • Performs preventative maintenance inspections of equipment, following the preventative maintenance schedule. Maintains records and logs of preventative maintenance completed.
  • Monitors building temperature and reports any unusual conditions.
  • Maintains inventory of all parts and tools required for repairs of the building and grounds equipment.
  • Moves furniture and equipment according to department procedures and standards as needed.
  • Removes debris and assists in maintaining a clean, orderly appearance of the property.
  • Cuts and trims grass, fertilizes, removes weeds, trims shrubs and trees, flowers, bushes, etc. Waters landscaped areas, plants flowers and replaces sod as necessary.
  • Removes snow from but not limited to public sidewalks, entrances, parking lots, driveways and rooftops.
  • Cleans the parking structure, parking lots and surrounding paved areas using hand, power and motorized equipment as needed.

Licensure, Registration, and/or Certification Required:
  • A valid drivers license issued by the Division of Motor Vehicles.

Education Required:
  • High School Graduate.

Experience Required:
  • No experience required.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Required:
  • Current driving record that meets Aurora fleet safety standards.
  • Must have knowledge/basic skills in maintenance and groundskeeping.
  • Basic computer skills.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills necessary.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and to problem solve.

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:
  • Must be able to sit, stand, walk, lift, bend, twist, climb and reach above shoulders at least 50% of the workday.
  • Must be able to:
  • lift up to 15 lbs from floor to overhead.
  • lift up to 50 lbs from floor to chest-level.
  • lift and carry up to 50 lbs at waist height a reasonable distance.
  • Must be able to:
  • push/pull with 50 lbs of force.
  • May be exposed to mechanical, electrical, chemical and radiation hazards. Therefore, protective clothing and equipment must be worn as necessary.
  • Temperature in working environment varies from (-10) to 90 degrees and atmosphere often contains fumes, odors and dust.
  • Position requires travel. May be exposed to road and weather hazards.
  • Operates all equipment necessary to perform the job.
