General Manager
Financial & Strategic Management
- Responsible for Profit & Loss of the company, managing operating budgets, developing and executing capital expenditure plans in coordination with preparation of the annual plan process, and controlling product unit costs.
- As a member of the Vac-Con/Vector management team set strategic objectives, including current year and 5-year business plans to increase market share, achieve revenue and income objectives, and meet production goals.
- Track and analyze sales data, forecasts, and annual plan objectives to measure productivity and identify areas needing improvement.
- Collaborate with marketing, engineering, and finance departments to ensure strategic and tactical business goals are met.
- Analyze performance metrics and financial reports to identify areas for cost reduction, process optimization, and resource allocation.
Strategic Sales Planning
- As part of the Vac-Con/Vector management team, set sales targets, quotas, and strategic sales goals for the organization.
- Collaborate with the Vac-Con marketing team to identify emerging markets, analyze market trends, and formulate long-term sales strategies to maximize market share.
Operations & Production Leadership
- Responsibilities include daily production across all areas, including welding, assembly, purchasing, production scheduling, and warehousing.
- Ensure on-time delivery of finished trailers and parts shipments by eliminating production bottlenecks, minimizing downtime, and optimizing workflow efficiency.
- Establish a culture of Lean Manufacturing and Continuous Improvement to eliminate waste and maximize asset utilization.
Operations & Customer Success
- Oversee the daily sales activities, through the Vector Sales Manager, ensuring a seamless flow in the lead-to-close processes.
- Resolve any escalated client complaints and maintain strong relationships with key accounts and stakeholders.
Supply Chain & Quality Assurance
- Oversee procurement of raw materials and manage strategic supplier/vendor relationships to maintain optimal inventory levels.
- Enforce quality control standards to reduce rework, manage product warranties, and meet customer specifications.
- Coordinate closely with sales and engineering teams to ensure manufacturing capabilities meet specific client requirements and project timelines.
Team Leadership & Talent Development
- Hire, train, and mentor department heads, supervisors, and front-line production workers.
- Foster a high-performance, results driven culture, by setting clear performance goals, conducting regular evaluations, and building succession plans.
Safety & Compliance
- Champion a safety-first culture and enforce all protocols to ensure OSHA and environmental regulatory compliance.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business, or Industrial Management is preferred.
- Experience: 10+ years of management experience, with a track record of successfully managing sales and production teams.
- Business Acumen: Strong financial literacy, P&L management, and contract negotiation skills.
