We help overcome poverty through providing backpacks and school supplies as well as coats and winter accessories to children in Milwaukee. The Administrative Assistant assists with all program operations of The Salvation Army Cold Spring Corps. Provides support, service and leadership as needed.

About the role:
- Oversees the  efficient operations of the Corps office.
- Answers phone calls professionally, Â directing calls to appropriate personnel
- Greets visitors positively.
- Assists with data entry projects.
- Coordinates opening all mail with volunteer daily, tracking all donations received.
- Process receipts, invoices and all financial documentations.
- Maintains a neat work environment.
- Maintains office supplies and equipment inventory.
- Promotes Corps programming to visitors.
- Assist with processing and coordinating volunteers.
- Assist with Christmas activities, as assigned.
- Assist with compiling and processing monthly statistics.
- Assist with general office needs, such as bulletins, posters, handouts etc. using Microsoft Office applications and Canva or other software.
- Assists with registration for special events such as summer camps, when needed.
- Assists with preparation of spaces to accommodate different programs, this may include moving tables and chairs.
Education:Â High school diploma or equivalent.
Experience: 2 years’ experience in an administrative role.Â
Certifications: Valid Driver’s License with clearance to drive from The Salvation Army’s insurance carrier.
Skills/Abilities:
- Bilingual in Spanish and English required (conversational and written)
- Attention to detail
- Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines
- Innovative, self-starter
- Flexibility to adapt to necessary changes in programming needs
- Skilled in the use of Microsoft Office, email, internet and other software used by The Salvation Army
- Ability to handle difficult situations with compassion, clarity and empathy
- Ability to work as part of a team (volunteers and paid staff)
- Ability to motivate and encourage others
- Ability to maintain appropriate confidentiality
