Job Description

What You Get to Do:

The Behavior Analyst will develop and implement programs and services to remediate behavioral and social problems for persons served. Core responsibilities include:

  • Assist primary health care providers in recognizing and treating behavioral and social problems
  • Assess, evaluate and identify social/behavioral issues along with the support team members
  • Design programs for persons served that are consistent with Wisconsin statutes, rules, regulations and the mission and philosophy of Dungarvin
  • Data collection, tracking and reporting; use expertise with populations of mental health and cognitive impairments
  • Develop and implement training for staff and caregivers
  • Monitoring and revisions of support plans
  • Attend and participate in meetings and quality improvement activities as required
  • Assist the support team in locating and obtaining community resources which are available to the persons served and their families
  • Frequently observe person served, staff interactions, the environment and the implementation of supports and services during and outside of normal business hours

Qualifications

  • Must communicate effectively in written and oral form using positive interpersonal skills
  • Experience with functional behavior assessment/functional behavior analysis
  • Experience in the development and implementation of affective/social skill lessons
  • Must have good decision-making skills, be responsible, mature, flexible, and have management experience
  • Experience in IDD, mental health, and crisis support
  • Must have a valid driver's license, reliable vehicle, and auto insurance
     

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Must have four years of supervised experience working directly with people who exhibit challenging behaviors as well as co-occurring mental disorders and neurocognitive disorders; and meet one or more of the following requirements: 
    • Possess a graduate degree from an accredited college or university in psychology, counseling, marriage and family therapy, social work, nursing or a closely related field, and either has completed the applicable supervised practice requirements under Chapter MPSW 4, 12, or 16 or Psy 2, or has 3,000 hours of supervised clinical post-graduate degree experience including at least 1,000 hours of face-to-face contact with consumers and who commences work at a clinic required to be certified under this chapter no later than January 1, 2013, OR
    • Are a current graduate student who is enrolled in an accredited institution in psychology, counseling, marriage and family therapy, social work, nursing or a closely related field, OR
    • Possess a graduate degree from an accredited institution and course work in psychology, counseling, marriage and family therapy, social work, nursing or a closely related field who has not yet completed the applicable supervised practice requirements described under Chapter MPSW 4, 12, or 16 or Psy 2 as applicable, OR
    • Are an individual who may lawfully practice psychotherapy within the scope of a license, permit, registration or certificate granted by Wisconsin other than under ch. 455 or 457, Stats

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Psychologist or private practice school psychologist licensed in Wisconsin under ch. 455, Stats, OR
  • Marriage and family therapist licensed in Wisconsin under s. 457.10 or 457.11, Stats, OR
  • Professional counselor licensed in Wisconsin under s. 457.12 or 457.13, Stats, OR
  • Advanced practice social worker granted a certificate in Wisconsin under s. 457.08 (2), Stats, OR
  • Independent social worker licensed in Wisconsin under s. 457.08 (3), Stats, OR
  • Clinical social worker licensed in Wisconsin under s. 457.08 (4), Stats, OR
  • Board-Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA)

Additional Information

Schedule & Hours Worked:

The typical hours worked are Monday through Friday, 8:00am to 5:00pm; however, work schedule may change depending on the scheduling needs of individuals. Appointments may occur in the early morning, evening or on the weekend to best meet the needs of the person served.

Travel:

This role will be based in Milwaukee and will follow a standard rotation of visits to program sites in Milwaukee, Madison, Janesville, Baraboo, Lyndon Station, and occasionally Eau Claire.
