Performs other duties and ad hoc assignments to support the department.

Supports commitment to a culture of safe work practices.

Participates in month-end close by recording journal entries for segment activity and accruals.

Analyzes results in comparison to budget and prior periods and provides variance explanations to Management.

Prepares account reconciliations and performs SOX controls to ensure accurate financial reporting.

Compiles specific information for the Company鈥檚 SEC financial statement disclosures.

Provides support for both internal and external audits.

Assist with regulatory filings as needed.


Gas Reserves accounting

Manages the monthly gas reserves accounting process, working regularly with a joint venture partner to obtain and record relevant transactions.

Supports annual audit of the investment.

Supports an annual reserve study and incorporates study results in annual forecasts.

Prepares materials for monthly Management and quarterly Subsidiary Board Meetings.


North Mist Gas Storage Facility accounting

Prepares monthly reporting package for Management. This includes reviewing information from multiple departments and interpreting results.

Works closely with the Rates team to develop annual forecast of future costs.



Requirements

聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 Bachelor鈥檚 degree with an emphasis in Accounting and CPA certificate are required

聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 Minimum of 5 years of applied accounting experience. Public accounting experience is preferred

聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 Strong technical knowledge of US GAAP, with the ability to critically think and apply that knowledge to business requirements

聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 Experience in utility industry or related business environment is preferred

聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 Experience using SAP or another general ledger or other financial software system is strongly preferred

聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 Experience with reconciliation tool, Blackline preferred

聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 Demonstrated background in applying analytical/accounting research skills

聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 Excellent verbal skills, including the ability to apply group facilitation techniques and make group presentations

聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 Strong written communication skills including with process and task documentation and report generation

聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 Proven ability to meet deadlines, including strong time management and organizational skills

聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 Must combine attention to detail with the ability to envision the big picture
