About the Role:

The Clinic Medical Assistant Certified-Float-Fulltime plays a vital role in supporting clinical operations across multiple healthcare settings by providing comprehensive patient care and administrative assistance. This position requires flexibility to work in various clinic locations, adapting quickly to different team dynamics and patient needs while maintaining high standards of care. The primary goal is to ensure smooth clinical workflows, accurate patient documentation, and effective communication between patients and healthcare providers. The role demands a certified medical assistant who can perform clinical tasks such as taking vital signs, preparing patients for examinations, and assisting with procedures, as well as administrative duties including scheduling and record keeping. Ultimately, this position contributes to enhancing patient experience and supporting healthcare teams to deliver efficient, quality care throughout the healthcare network.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Certification as a Medical Assistant (CMA) from an accredited program.
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
  • Minimum of one year experience working as a medical assistant in a clinical setting.
  • Proficiency in electronic health record (EHR) systems and basic computer skills.
  • Ability to work flexible hours and travel between clinic locations as required.
  • Must possess a valid Texas driver's license, a good driving record and liability insurance.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience working in a multi-site healthcare environment or as a float medical assistant.
  • Additional certifications such as Phlebotomy or EKG Technician credentials.
  • Familiarity with insurance billing and coding procedures.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with experience in patient education and counseling..
  • Responsibilities:
  • Provide direct patient care including taking vital signs, recording medical histories, and preparing patients for examinations.
  • Assist healthcare providers during clinical procedures and examinations to ensure patient comfort and procedural efficiency.
  • Manage patient flow by scheduling appointments, updating medical records, and coordinating with other departments as needed.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of clinical areas and ensure medical equipment is properly sterilized and ready for use.
  • Communicate effectively with patients to explain procedures, answer questions, and provide instructions for follow-up care.
  • Adapt to working in multiple clinic locations as a float staff member, ensuring consistent quality of care across sites.
  • Comply with all healthcare regulations, safety protocols, and confidentiality standards to protect patient information.

Monday thru Friday 8a-5p with occasional weekends and occasional staying until 8p
This position is a 1.0 FTE. This position is eligible to receive overtime and shift differential pay, if applicable.
