About the Role:

As a Registered Nurse (RN) in Women's Services, you will play a critical role in providing comprehensive nursing care to women across various stages of health, including prenatal, labor and delivery, postpartum, and gynecological care. Your primary objective will be to ensure the safety, comfort, and well-being of patients by delivering evidence-based nursing interventions and collaborating closely with multidisciplinary healthcare teams. You will be responsible for monitoring patient conditions, administering medications, educating patients and families, and supporting women through complex and sensitive health experiences. This role demands a compassionate and patient-centered approach, with a focus on promoting positive health outcomes and empowering women in their healthcare decisions. Ultimately, your work will contribute to enhancing the quality of care and improving the overall patient experience within the Women's Services department.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Current and valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in the United States allowing work in Texas
  • Graduation from an accredited nursing program (Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Nursing).
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification,  Advanced Life Support (ACLS), and Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP)
  • One year RN experience required prefer experience in women's health, obstetrics, or related nursing fields.
  • Demonstrated critical thinking skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with patients and healthcare teams.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) degree.
  • Advanced certifications such as Inpatient Obstetric Nursing (RNC-OB) or Maternal Newborn Nursing (RNC-MNN).
  • Experience working in labor and delivery, postpartum, or gynecological units.
  • Knowledge of electronic medical record (EMR) systems commonly used in women's health settings.
  • Completion of continuing education courses related to women's health and perinatal nursing.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide direct nursing care to women during prenatal, labor, delivery, postpartum, and gynecological services.
  • Monitor and assess patient conditions, including vital signs, fetal monitoring, and symptom changes, and respond appropriately.
  • Administer medications, treatments, and interventions as prescribed by healthcare providers.
  • Educate patients and their families on health maintenance, disease prevention, childbirth preparation, breastfeeding, and postpartum care.
  • Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement individualized care plans.
  • Document patient care accurately and timely in electronic health records, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards.
  • Support patients emotionally and physically during labor and delivery, providing comfort measures and advocacy.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and maintain up-to-date knowledge of best practices in women's health nursing.

Night Shift: Rotating schedule-6:45 PM to 6:45 AM
