Job DetailsJob Location: Corporate Office - Minneapolis, MN 55422Position Type: Full TimeSalary Range: $59,350.20 - $83,046.80 SalaryJob Shift: Day Job Overview          Division: Koch Trucking                                                                      Reports to: Operations Manager                                                                    Employee Classification: Full time                                                    Weekly Hours: 40                                                                    Position Details Job Summary The Fleet Manager coordinates all freight planning, driver assignments, dispatching and equipment utilization for a division of Trucking. You ensure regulatory compliance, maximize driver and equipment productivity, and deliver high-quality service to internal and external customers. This position requires strong communication, time management, and customer service skills to maintain daily operations and driver engagement. Essential Job Functions •   Plan and assign loads, ensuring full driver and equipment utilization while meeting customer expectations. •   Maintain awareness of each assigned driver’s preferences, home time needs, and working conditions. •   Monitor driver hours of service and regulatory compliance before dispatching. •   Manage mileage expectations for drivers based on account objectives or weekly mileage goals. •   Track drivers on high-security loads and ensure compliance with company policies. •   Respond to driver, customer, and supplier inquiries during and after business hours (as needed). •   Provide drivers with necessary customer contact information and directions. •   Coordinate scheduled maintenance of trucks with the Maintenance Department. •   Handle necessary computer entries related to, entering loads, load planning and driver management. •   Contact brokers, shippers, and consignees to book freight, schedule or adjust appointments. •   Collaborate with backhaul specialists to optimize equipment utilization. •   Support the Operations Manager with division-level initiatives and assignments.   •   Communicate driver status changes to appropriate departments (e.g., Safety, Payroll, Maintenance). •   Schedule driver time off in accordance with company policies. •    Ensure driver attendance at mandatory safety meetings and training sessions. •    Oversee driver compliance with trip envelope and documentation requirements. •    Provide recommendations on driver evaluations, performance, discipline, and terminations. •    Perform additional duties as assigned •    Track and update PTAs, ETAs, and arrival and departures and late reporting. •    Assigns work equitably, maintaining fairness and preventing favoritism in driver assignments. Secondary Job Functions •    May be assigned to a dedicated customer account. •   Dedicated customer accounts may require weekend work during peak season, with limited PTO availability. •   Dedicated customer accounts may require tracking loads on the day before Thanksgiving and Christmas and provide hourly status updates to the Customer. •   Dedicated customer accounts may include a rotating weekend schedule. •   Perform yard checks as required •   Serve as a representative of the Company, displaying courtesy, tact, consideration, and discretion in all interactions with other members of the Koch community, customers and with the public. •   Cross training as required. •   Perform additional duties and projects as assigned. Team size and reporting relationships may change as business needs evolve. •   Managers are responsible for leading, developing, and supporting their direct reports. This includes setting clear expectations, providing consistent feedback, and ensuring employees understand their role in meeting business needs. You coach employees to build capability, address performance concerns promptly, and document conversations when expectations are not met. •   You hold regular one-on-one check-ins to stay aligned on workload, priorities, and development needs. You guide employees through performance reviews, goal setting, and ongoing progress updates throughout the year. You reinforce company values through your day-to-day decisions and how you communicate with your team. •   You ensure your employees follow all policies, safety requirements, and operational standards. You maintain a fair and respectful work environment, take concerns seriously, and escalate issues when needed. You build trust by being accessible, following through, and supporting employees through change. Qualifications Qualifications Required Education and Experience High school diploma or equivalent. 2 years of transportation industry experience in a non-driver role. Working knowledge of DOT regulations. Preferred Education and Experience Associate degree or higher in Supply Chain, Business, or a related field. Experience with TMW, Omnitracs, and Qualcomm systems. 3+ years of experience as a fleet manager or dispatcher. Extensive knowledge of DOT compliance regulations, hours of service, controlled substance policies, and vehicle compliance standards. Essential Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Strong written and verbal communication skills. Intermediate proficiency in computer usage, including Microsoft Office Suite. Ability to independently problem solve and implement effective solutions. Conflict resolution skills with professionalism and patience. Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask. Willingness to learn, accept responsibility, and adapt to changing needs. Self-motivated with a positive attitude and high emotional intelligence.
