Join Ameriprise Financial as a Senior Product Owner and lead the vision, strategy, and delivery of digital experiences that help clients feel more confident about their financial future. In this role, you’ll be responsible for ensuring clarity of the roadmap, effective prioritization, strong backlog ownership, and delivery of measurable value. You will maintain a deep understanding of the competitive landscape and evolving customer needs, partnering with key stakeholders to define goals, success criteria, and outcomes that guide ongoing value creation. The Senior Product Owner provides day‑to‑day leadership to an agile product team by articulating the product vision and guiding the execution of a digital product roadmap.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead day-to-day execution of product strategy and delivery for one or more Agile Scrum teams.  Represent the Customer to the Product teams. Partner with engineering team and product teams to define roadmap, backlog and sprint plans. Author user stories and provide context for product vision, strategy and requirements.  Collaborate with multiple stakeholders in and outside of the department to develop and execute on long term enterprise strategy. 

  • Create compelling product vision - develop and execute product roadmap with a focus on measurable business outcomes. Understand business strategy and customer goals. Define Key Performance Indicators (KPI’s) for the customer and business and regularly monitor progress toward goals. Regularly track and share progress with stakeholders and team.

  • Represent the Product to the business - Act as the key point of contact to consult with product stakeholders and determine strategic roadmap prioritized list of feature improvements.

  • Identify new opportunities to drive value and deepen customer relationship through ongoing assessment of customer needs and goals. Adjust product strategy in partnership with leadership. 

  • Manage annual product budget to effectively deliver products in collaboration with Product Owner - Director or Vice President.


Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience

  • 7+ years' experience in software-based solutions, with hands on experience as a product manager/owner 

  • Strong written and verbal communications skills, including the ability to clearly articulate concepts and rationale


Preferred Qualifications

  • 3+ years in financial services, preferably with bank products

  • Solid understanding of client-facing website and mobile app designs, solutions and architecture

  • 3+ years as a people leader

  • Must possess a solid understanding of digital technologies and best practices.

  • Experience working in a highly matrixed organization

  • Experience working in an Agile environment and translating highly technical subject matter 

  • Strong communication skills to engage team, facilitate discussion, mentor team members and resolve conflict

  • Ability to communicate clearly and concisely across technology and business teams

  • Strong presentation skills and experience presenting to senior leadership

Base Pay Salary

The estimated base salary for this role is $114,500 - $157,400/ year. We have a pay-for-performance compensation philosophy. Your initial total compensation may vary based on job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and geographical work location. In addition, most of our roles are eligible for variable pay in the form of bonus, commissions, and/or long-term incentives depending on the role. We also have a competitive and comprehensive benefits program that supports all aspects of your health and well-being, including but not limited to vacation time, sick time, 401(k), and health, dental and life insurances.
