Mortenson is looking for an Accounts Payable Associate to provide support to internal and external customers by ensuring the accurate and timely processing of accounts payable, including performing various assignments to maintain efficient and effective invoice management.Ā 

Ā 

Responsibilities:

  • Invoice Processing

    • Review and process incoming invoices with accuracy and completeness according to company policies, internal controls and tax regulations.Ā  This includes validating pricing, quantities and PO matching.

    • Ensure proper coding, approvals and processing timeliness of invoices.

    • Assist with processing mass uploads of invoices using Oracle’s data load functionality.

    • Investigate and resolve invoice issues, including discrepancies with purchase orders or receiving documents.Ā 

    • Research and resolve all past due balances and open credit memos.

  • Supplier Management

    • Maintain supplier records ensuring the accuracy of critical data fields for payment compliance and annual 1099 reporting.

  • Payment Processing

    • Initiating and authorizing payments to vendors in accordance with company policies.

    • Complete the void and returned checkĀ analysis.

  • Accounts Payable CloseĀ Review

    • Supplier negative balance review.

    • Invoice and supplier holdĀ review.

  • Assist with systems testing and special projects asĀ needed.

  • Participate in department projects and company initiatives asĀ required.

  • Effectively work and build relationships with those of diverse backgrounds and organizationalĀ levels

Qualifications:

  • High school degree or GED required; Associates or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance a plusĀ 

  • Prior Accounts Payable experienceĀ required

  • Construction accounting experience aĀ plus

  • Active listening skills and effective communication including an openness to diverse input and feedback

The base pay range for this role is $27.55 - $37.21. (Actual range is higher for the following office locations: Denver, CO and Chicago, IL – 5%, Seattle, WA, and Portland, OR – 10%, Washington, D.C. – 12.5%).

Base pay is positioned within the range based on several factors including an individual’s knowledge, skills, and experience, with consideration given to internal equity.Ā
