The purpose of this role is to lead and coordinate the operational and day-to-day management of accounting and reporting activities within the A&H Accounting Operations team. This includes ensuring accurate month-end close, managing accountants, supporting business partners, and overseeing banking administration and accounts payable and receivable processes. The role involves analyzing, reviewing, and approving team outputs, implementing changes and policies, and providing high-level business analysis and recommendations to key stakeholders, while ensuring compliance with accounting standards and regulations. Additionally, this role leverages deep financial expertise, strategic thinking, and collaborative leadership to drive the achievement of the organization's overarching goals by enabling sound financial management and decision-making. Responsibilities include ensuring accurate and timely accounting reporting to support business operations; leading and supporting continuous improvement initiatives in forecasting and reporting processes; managing day-to-day delivery of team services to meet specific needs of the business; providing technical expertise and guidance on financial matters; driving process optimization and efficiency targets; maintaining compliance with policies, procedures, and regulations; providing financial management leadership in areas such as tax, financial reporting, and treasury management to the finance team; preparing accurate and timely financial reports and forecasts for the organization; establishing effective financial controls to protect the organization's profits; and supporting the development and maintenance of financial systems and procedures. Required experience includes a minimum of 3 - 5 years of direct leadership experience managing a finance, accounting or operations team, proven experience in a leadership role focused on driving operational efficiencies, experience with developing positive relationships and providing excellent customer service, and strong written and verbal communication skills. Preferred experience includes significant experience in a relevant role post qualification (Financial Control in a Global Insurance or Finance Services organization), people management, financial services and/or accounting experience with increasing levels of responsibility, background in strategic planning, budgeting, forecasting process, monthly analyses and reports, building complex financial models, managing and supporting Budget and Reforecasting submissions, preparation of ad hoc financial projections and analysis, building and updating profitability and cash flow models, drawdown funding, special financial planning and analysis projects, experience managing a highly performing team, working on a global team, leading and supporting continuous improvement of dynamic forecasting and reporting processes, project management and change management experience, proven experience in taking active accountability for own workload, consistent and constructive people management capabilities, working with all levels of an organization, significant accounting experience within a complex financial services organization, and prior experience in review or preparation of financial accounts, and accounting for multinational business. Qualifications include exceptional communication skills (verbal, written and presentation skills), ability to remain balanced in a fast-paced changing environment with capacity to prioritize tasks and information effectively, proficiency in Microsoft Suite Applications, ability to influence others and manage conflict with methodical problem-solving approach, tertiary qualifications or equivalent combination of education and work experience, and certifications as an accountant. The role offers a hybrid work arrangement with 2-3 days per week in office and a salary range between $120,000.00 and $198,000.00.
