Description

Associate Dentist


Perform dental implants. Affix crowns and bridges. Fit and prepare patients for full or partial sets of dentures. Perform oral surgery including extracting teeth, placing implants, and performing other surgical procedures. Examine patients’ x-rays and dental instruments to determine the type of dental prostheses required. Consult with patients to discuss their dental concerns and medical histories. Take impressions of patients' jaws and teeth to determine the dimensions of the dental prostheses to be fabricated. Send wax models of dental prostheses to the laboratory for fabrication. Fit newly-fabricated dental prostheses in patients' mouths and assess whether adjustments are required. Perform cosmetic dentistry including teeth whitening procedures to treat extrinsic tooth discoloration. Use bonding procedures to repair cracks and chips, fill small gaps between the teeth, and alter the size of teeth. Collaborate with dental and healthcare specialists to develop suitable treatment plans for patients. Partner with dental hygienists, assistants, and other team members to provide comprehensive dental care to patients. Stay up-to-date on current dental procedures, technologies, and best practices. Maintain accurate patient records and manage billing and insurance information. Communicate effectively with patients to educate them on their dental health and treatment options. Mentor and supervise junior dentists and other team members.


Must have a bachelor’s degree in general dentistry, or its foreign equivalent, be a licensed dentist in the state of Minnesota, have 60 months prior work experience, and must have completed 2 years residency in dentistry or prosthodontics.
