Position Summary

MHIF CIRC and Core Lab provides many services for clinical trials.   From the design of the imaging components of the clinical trials, to modality-specific quality control and quality assurance, to the leveraging of the strengths of each imaging modality to provide complementary information for either a primary or secondary endpoint.

The Cardiac Imaging Analyst of the MHIF-CIRC and Core Lab will be working with imaging research community leaders and will be responsible for quantitative imaging analysis for clinical research studies as per study guidelines and protocol.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide echocardiographic analyses for Imaging Core Lab (ICL) with high attention to detail and quality.
  • Management of image tracking process.
  • Interacts with sponsors and clinical sites, as appropriate, regarding the images in the clinical study, including acquisition issues and missing data.
  • Responsible for providing Imaging Core Laboratory (ICL) input into design of an Electronic Data Capture (EDC) system (if applicable).
  • Responsible for entry and/or Quality Control (QC) of ICL data in EDC systems.
  • Track milestones, timelines, and keep the Sponsor and Core Lab Scientific Director up to date.
  • Facilitate internal and external communication as it relates to the Imaging Core Laboratory’s participation in the clinical trial.
  • Provides trial metrics/updates as necessary to Clinical Research Organization (CRO)/Sponsor on core laboratory progress.
  • Support Quality Assurance (QA) to ensure processes and procedures used to collect and process imaging data conform to all applicable standards including International Conference for Harmonization for Good Clinical Practice (ICH GCP), Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA), applicable Food and Drug Administration (FDA) regulations, applicable International Organization of Standardization (ISO) standards, research protocol requirements and Core Lab Standard Operating Procedures, as applicable.

 What Sets You Apart

  • Clinical experience as a Cardiac Sonographer, including a comprehensive understanding of cardiac structures on Transthoracic and Transesophageal Echocardiograms, with a focus on structural heart disease. 
  • A mature conscientious individual with the ability to work independently, under little supervision, demonstrating problem-solving skills, with good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Comprehensive understanding of research methodology and ethics.
  • A college degree is required. In addition, experience, and knowledge of cardiac quantitative imaging analytic methods including advanced imaging techniques such as quantitative 3D and strain analysis.
  • High attention to detail, highly organized, and ability to provide thorough documentation.
  • Must be multi-task oriented and able to work assertively in a fast-paced environment.
