The Certified Nurse Midwife - Lactation Consultant is a member of the health care team who works in collaboration with physicians and other medical staff to provide comprehensive health care to patients. This role engages in independent decision making about health care needs and provides health care services to individuals. The CNM - Lactation Consultant obtains patient histories, perform physical and psychological health assessments, provide patient and family education and counseling as it relates to specific needs of breast-feeding individuals in the ambulatory setting.

Responsibilities
- 0.2 FTE
- Provides one on one consultation, develops, and implements education for patients/families.
- Provides follow up for patients who have discussed lactation concerns with care team and need additional consultation with a lactation consultant.
- Acts as a visible lactation resource to promote lactation services, breastfeeding education and breast pump access.
- Actively participates in creating and implementing improvements.

Required Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited CNM training program
- Current licensure with the MN Board of Nursing as a CNM
- IBCLC
- Meets threshold criteria/qualifications for Credentialing and Privileging
Preferred Qualifications
- 1 year demonstrated leadership, teaching, evaluation and communication skills
