Job DetailsJob Location: SPG - Minneapolis - Minneapolis , MN 55426Position Type: Full TimeSalary Range: $19.00 - $21.00 Hourly  SUMMARY: The Material Handler performs Motan tasks as necessary throughout the Inventory Control Department.  Areas of responsibility may include Shipping, Receiving and Production duties.  The Material Handler moves product throughout the facility using RF Scanner Units linked to IQMS and the appropriate Material Handling Equipment.   KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES: Actively promote and drive a culture of safety. Customer On-Time Deliveries. Customer Quality/Returns. Reduction of Financial Variances. These accountabilities will be measured by the following: Inventory Quantity and Location Accuracy Consistent Cycle Count Performance IQMS Data Integrity and Accuracy 5S and Continuous Improvement Initiatives   KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: Perform daily tasks safely by complying with regulatory standards (OSHA, EPA, ISO, and internal SPG SOPS). Safely move product throughout the facility using Material Handling Equipment. Ensure inventory transactions are properly performed from inventory location to location via RF Scanner and Manual Data Entry. Review Area Specific Inventory Locations daily and maintain inventory accuracy in these locations; perform consistent Cycle Counting in these areas. Pull parts as indicated on pick tickets, shipping priority report, and customer service requests. Verify part identity, quantity, Revision Level, and correct shipping information. Restock excess parts, assuring proper inventory moves/data transactions. Verify the "ship to" address, generate packing slips, select appropriate method of shipment, and include any additional customer specified shipping labels. Repack/reseal cartons, label boxes, ensure packing slip accuracy, load cartons and palletize when   necessary. Prepare Bills of Lading for the carrier. Prepare packages for UPS and FedEx shipments as required. Load shipments onto the carrier's truck using Material Handling Equipment (forklift, pallet jacks) as appropriate. Create new labels for parts shipping to outside vendors. Expedite shipments requiring special handling. Ensure all incoming materials are received according to procedure, including purchased materials, customer  returns, OSV product, tooling and samples. Ensure all receipts are accurately entered into IQMS and move items into the appropriate inventory location. Deliver incoming shipments, FedEx packages, paperwork, etc. to appropriate departments and/or personnel. Receive Work in Process (WP) parts returned from outside secondary operations. Obtain, prepare, and dry material for scheduled Work Orders by mixing virgin resins with regrind or colorant. Move all material via RF Scanner to facilitate appropriate IQMS transactions. Reconcile Backflush Inventory Locations at the end of each Work Order. Work with the Warehouse Supervisor to ensure High-Use Resin restocking is adequately maintained. Write Maintenance Work Orders for the MOTAN Distribution System.   Trouble shoot and assist in MOTAN maintenance as necessary. Re-weigh, re-label, and return excess resin, inserts, or other raw materials to the appropriate inventory locations. Single point of contact to Production Floor for movement of WP (work-in-process) and raw materials (other than materials fed through the MOTAN system).  Move Finished Goods from production floor to appropriate warehouse location or other designated storage areas.  Move all inventoried materials via RF Scanner to facilitate appropriate IQMS transactions. Assist with Cycle Counting as needed.  Assist with loading/unloading of freight trucks as necessary.  Act as back-up for other Material Handlers during planned as well as unplanned absences; cross-train as necessary.    QualificationsEXPERIENCE, SKILLS, EDUCATION AND TRAINING: High school diploma or General Education Degree (GED), and two to three years of related experience and/or training.  Must be able to obtain forklift license through company sponsored training and testing.    WORK ENVIRONMENT AND PHYSICAL DEMANDS: The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 70 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds. While performing the duties of this job, the employee occasionally works near moving mechanical parts and in high, precarious places and is occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles.  The noise level in the work environment is moderate to high in the warehouse and minimal in the office.
