The Mechanical and electrical test support technician will be responsible for performing product design validation tests for Home's product devices, including, but not limited to, thermostats, Indoor air quality systems & line voltage products. We are looking for an individual with experience in Mechanical and Electrical product design testing, verification and safety validation for regulatory agencies for global regions.

Selected Candidates may work in close communication with Design Engineering, Component Engineering, Value Engineering and Compliance Engineering in Golden Valley.

JOB DUTIES:

  • Performs and coordinates product testing according to engineering test procedures and product specifications. And regulatory standards.
  • Designs and/or develops test fixtures, test setups, test procedures, work instructions, test schedules, etc. for new products, product redesigns, or product failures, troubleshooting.
  • Specifies, initiates, and coordinates acquisition of new test equipment as needed. 
  • Independently determines and develops own test schedule and manages diverse workloads from project managers.
  • Participate in multi-disciplinary teams across many functions, including process development 
  • Prepares test reports, analyzes discrepancies, and makes recommendations to design engineers for the product performance.
  • Conducts activities in a safe and healthy manner and works in accordance with established Resideo Safety requirements to ensure the protection of associates, the public, and the environment. 
  • Takes actions necessary to 'stop' work when an unsafe condition or action is identified. 
  • May perform other duties as required. 



YOU MUST HAVE:

  • Proven experience with product design validation testing.
  • Good understanding of both mechanical and electronics/electrical test equipment.
  • Experience with the use of bench test equipment like oscilloscopes, LCR meters, power supplies, etc.
  • Experience with:
    • Line volt product testing for 110v, 220v, & 440 v is desired.
    • Use of thermal chambers for extreme temperature and humidity testing.
    • Maintenance routines on test equipment.
    • Test scheduling and coordination of test equipment and resources is desired.
    • RF products testing for design validation is a plus
  • Good communication skills in English both written and verbally.
