Position SummaryÂ
Johnstech’s Custom Product Engineering team has the responsibility of developing products that meets or exceeds our Customers’ specific application and performance expectations. Activities within the CPE team include the following:
- Cutting edge new technology developmentÂ
- Product design – concept to production
- Internal manufacturing developmentÂ
- Core technology improvement
Responsibilities
- Assist or create working prototypes from original concept to a final manufactured working productÂ
- Assist with defining design rules and work with Design & Drafting to create documentation
- Work with engineers, manufacturing, design & drafting, test lab and quality to maintain manufacturing processes, quality plans and inspection criteria.
- Assist or create new/existing experimental testsÂ
- Assist with investigating and resolving product performance, cost, manufacturability, quality, reliability and serviceabilityÂ
- Participate on projects and cross-functional teamsÂ
- Assist with performing root cause analysis to resolve internal and external product issues. Develop and implement corrective and preventative actions to ensure stronger product reliability.
- Work with our patent counsel on patent research regarding Johnstech’s products
- Investigate new materials, technology and capabilities
- Assist with sourcing and qualifying new suppliers
- Perform other duties as needed
 Qualifications
Required
- BSME or related experience (4-year degree preferred)
- 2+ years’ experience with same type role in design/manufacturing environmentÂ
- SolidWorks proficiency
- Experience with problem identification / resolution, risk managementÂ
- Abilities in analysis, sound judgment with a bias of driving opportunities for continuous improvement
- Self-starter and able to take projects from start to finish
- Comfortable in working with cross functional teams
- Ability to communicate technical information to varying audiences both verbal and writtenÂ
- Able to travel nationally and internationally up to 25%
- Able to work independently and in a team environment
Not required but helpful
- DOE / CAE / FEA / 8D / CAPA
- AnsysÂ
- Familiar with semiconductor customers and knowledgeable in package types, competitor productsÂ
Pay range for this position is 70K-120K DOQ. This salary information serves as a general guideline.
