Hennepin Healthcare has opportunity for a Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA) seeking either full-time (1.0 FTE) or part-time (0.8 FTE) employment to provide anesthesia care to trauma, surgical, medical, pediatric, obstetric patients, as well as several NORA sites.
We offer a flexible schedule. CRNA's typically work an 8, 10, or 12-hour day shift and are also scheduled for 16 and 24-hour call shifts. HHS offers a comprehensive benefits package and a generous signing bonus with 1-year commitment.Â
 RESPONSIBILITIES
- Provides pre-anesthesia care, which may include interviewing and examining patient, obtaining necessary tests to conduct the anesthetic, administering preanesthetic medications and fluids and documentation on the preanesthetic record
- Provides anesthesia care, which may include: preparing medications, supplies and equipment for the administration of anesthesia; respiratory care of patients; administer anesthetics, other additional medications, intravenous fluids and blood products to appropriately care for patient; continual evaluation of the patients oxygenation, ventilation, circulation, temperature, other relevant physiologic and pharmacologic parameters and anesthetic depth; maintain proper patient positioning during the anesthetic; complete documentation of patient management on the anesthetic record; institute appropriate monitoring. A qualified anesthetist shall be present throughout the conduct of all anesthetics.
- Provides post anesthesia care, which may include assisting in patient care in the post anesthesia care unit and follow up of patients receiving anesthetic care
- Continually evaluates and treats patients with monitoring and support appropriate to the patient’s condition during transport
- Assists in pain management
- Responds to emergency situations by providing airway and respiratory management, administration of emergency medications and fluids, and using advanced cardiac life support techniques
- Prepares, maintains and operates anesthesia equipment
- Precepting students.
- Participates in quality improvement projects
- Demonstrates respect and regard for the dignity of all patients, families, visitors and fellow employees to ensure a professional, responsible, and courteous environment
- Promotes effective working relations and works collaboratively as part of a department/unit team interdepartmentally to facilitate the department's/unit's ability to meet its goals and objectives
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- Graduation from an accredited School of Nurse Anesthesia
- Possession of a valid Minnesota Advanced Practice Registered Nurse License (or eligibility)
- ACLS, BLS, PALS
