About the Role

The Sanitation Assistant Utility Worker plays a critical role in maintaining the cleanliness and hygiene standards within a production kitchen environment, specifically during the 2nd shift. This position ensures that all sanitation procedures are meticulously applied to prevent contamination and uphold food safety regulations. The role involves working closely with the kitchen team to support food service sanitation efforts, contributing to a safe and efficient production process. Job Responsibilities

  • Apply established sanitation procedures to all kitchen equipment, surfaces, and utensils to maintain a hygienic environment.

  • Support the food service team by cleaning and sanitizing food preparation areas in compliance with health and safety regulations.
  • Monitor and report any sanitation issues or equipment malfunctions to the supervisory staff promptly.
  • Assist in waste disposal and maintain cleanliness in all designated work areas to promote a safe working environment.

Minimum Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Basic understanding of sanitation procedures and food safety standards.
  • Ability to follow detailed instructions and work independently or as part of a team.
  • Physical capability to perform cleaning tasks, including lifting, standing for extended periods, and handling cleaning chemicals safely.
  • Previous experience in a sanitation or food service environment is preferred but not required.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Certification in food safety or sanitation (e.g., ServSafe or equivalent).
  • Experience working in a production kitchen or similar food service setting.
  • Familiarity with OSHA and local health department regulations related to sanitation.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high cleanliness standards.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends if necessary.
