About the Role

The Senior/Lead Analyst, Private Credit Operations role will be responsible for supporting all operational activities within the private credit team at Loomis Sayles. The role will present the opportunity to work with multiple teams across the firm including other operations groups, valuations, investment management, investment product, fund services, legal and compliance and information technology teams. The role will assist in the development and enhancement of the private market operational processes and controls. This role will help integrate and maintain private credit workflows into the newly developed operating model of the Loomis Sayles private credit team that exists alongside our traditional public credit environment. We are looking for someone with substantial experience supporting private credit teams who is motivated to learn about our strategies and opportunities within the private credit space.  This position will report to the Head of Investment Operations.

 

About the Team

The Private Credit team manages strategies focused on investing in corporate debt, asset-based securities and infrastructure debt on behalf of institutional clients in separate accounts and commingled vehicles. The growing team is comprised of individuals located in Minneapolis, MN, Boston, MA, Chicago, IL and remotely. This is an opportunity to join a young and entrepreneurial business unit within a global asset manager with over $400 billion of AUM.

 

Job Responsibilities

  • Support all operational aspects of the private credit lifecycle, from deal execution through settlement and payoff in a holistic environment that combines private and public credit positions.
  • Perform private credit administration activities, identifying and capturing the necessary attributes required to book transactions.
  • Serve as the primary contact between Loomis and client custodian banks with respect to private investments, including closing and settlement coordination and all post-settlement activity.  
  • Assist the investment and legal teams with closing activities and transaction management both internally and with external service providers.
  • Act as first line of support to resolve issues with settlement, payment discrepancies, fund administration, agency and custodial teams.
  • Support investment and trading teams with new security setup, trade compliance and trade execution processes.
  • Stay abreast of regulatory requirements and understand investment guidelines across multiple asset classes, products and investment teams and act as first line of support to queries.
  • Assist legal team with deal amendments and coordinate updates to downstream systems.
  • Work with Operations and Client Relationship teams to answer custodian questions, investigate agency discrepancies and respond to queries from clients.
  • Act as data steward for all private market data, working with operational teams to update discrepancies to various internal systems.
  • Act as Private Market liaison for various cross-functional projects ensuring private markets has representation on major firm wide initiatives.

 

Qualifications & Education Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree required. Degree in Finance, Economics, Math or Computer Science preferred.
  • 7+ years’ experience in a private credit operations role supporting the private credit lifecycle.
  • Experience reviewing Private Credit loan documents (credit agreements, amendments, payoffs) for key terms and operational details.
  • Strong technical skills including proficiency in MS Excel, comfortable with mid-level data manipulation and ability to learn new systems is required.
  • Solid math and quantitative skills.
  • Can fluidly prioritize competing demands for time and attention.
  • Ability to work independently and demonstrate a high level of self-management.
  • Keeping attention to detail and highly organized.
  • Ability to think critically and challenge the norm.
  • Experience implementing new processes and operating models.
  • Effective written and oral communication skills.
 

 

 

Loomis Sayles is committed to offering competitive and equitable compensation. The salary range for this position is $105,000 - $140,000 USD. Your starting salary will be based on your experience, skills, qualifications and local benchmarking. This position is also eligible for a discretionary annual incentive award, which is based on individual and company performance.
