Job Description

What is the opportunity?  

The Senior Analyst, Risk Transformation is a newly created role with an exciting opportunity to play a critical role in developing the new WM-US Risk Transformation program and will directly identify, design, lead, and execute high impact and high visibility risk transformation projects and initiatives for WM-US.

The Senior Analyst, Risk Transformation will partner closely with the Head, Risk Governance and Transformation to build out the WM-US Risk Transformation program, focusing on key pillars such as innovation, process optimization, analytics and reporting, and special projects and will manage work efforts across multiple projects and initiatives, working closely with a variety of executives, leaders, and business partners across RBC business lines and functional groups.

What will you do?

  • Innovate. Drive innovation in areas such as risk AI enablement, technology, tooling, and automation, as well as risk transformation strategic opportunities more generally – to help identify and pursue opportunities for WM-US to uplift its risk management solutions and activities
  • Analyze, enhance, and implement processes. Analyze existing risk processes for enhancement opportunities; lead and execute process enhancement opportunities; and develop to-be-implemented processes and procedures – to help optimize process efficiency and effectiveness and facilitate resource allocation management
  • Support analytics and reporting. Facilitate the enhancement of existing and development of new data analytics and reporting, including executive presentations and reporting
  • Lead and execute special projects. Manage multiple projects and initiatives simultaneously within the WM-US Risk Transformation program project portfolio, while also providing substantive contributions. Initially this will include:
    • executive leadership risk metrics process and reporting;
    • issue identification and management process and reporting;
    • risk AI enablement;
    • business line control identification and documentation;
    • disclosure management technology implementation; and
    • regulatory exam readiness preparation
  • Perform ad hoc risk management responsibilities to support team and WM-US as needed

What do you need to succeed?

Must-have

  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, business, or related field
  • 1-5 years of professional services, such as financial services or management consulting, experience
  • Independent self-starter with the skill and judgment to be able to manage multiple projects and initiatives at a time and deal effectively with and influence business partners, stakeholders, and senior management
  • Proven skill in handling conflict, problem solving, strategic thinking, and decision making in a time-sensitive environment, along with meticulous attention to detail and strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Progressive experience in the financial services industry, with significant industry knowledge and demonstrated success in directing and leading projects and initiatives
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite

Nice-to-have

  • SIE; Series 7; Series 63/65 or 66; and Series 9/10 or Series 24
  • Experience leveraging generative AI in the workplace
  • JD or other professional degree

The expected salary range for this particular position is $70,000-$130,000, depending on your experience, skills, and registration status, market conditions and business needs.
