The Business Partner Experience team focuses on designing and improving how our valued business partners work with Target, making it easier and more productive to do business together. The Supplier Performance Management team leads the way in setting Business Partner standards, improving end-to-end processes, and driving clear and transparent communication to ensure product can flow smoothly and efficiently to meet our guests’ needs.

As a Sr. Manager, Supplier Performance Management (Business Partner Experience), you will lead a team responsible for driving measurable improvements in business partner performance across quality, on-time delivery, fill rate, and other key operational measures. You will translate strategic priorities into actionable plans for Target’s Frequency business, leveraging data, operational expertise, and strong cross-functional partnerships to improve execution and end-to-end product flow. You will also lead the Operations partnership with some of Target’s largest and most strategic business partners, building joint capabilities and driving accountability for sustained performance improvement. As Target’s supply chain continues to evolve, you will play a critical role in scaling routines, strengthening business partner capabilities, and enabling faster, more accurate product flow that supports an improved guest experience.

In this role, you will:

  • Lead and develop a team of business partner performance experts, setting clear priorities, building capabilities, and creating an environment of accountability, continuous improvement, and strong cross-functional partnership.
  • Translate enterprise strategy into the performance agenda for Target’s Frequency business, identifying key opportunities, risks and leading actions that improve end-to-end operational execution
  • Lead the SPM engagement with some of Target’s largest and most strategic business partners, establishing shared priorities, influencing senior leaders, and driving joint action plans that strengthen execution and long-term operational capabilities.
  • Leverage performance data and analytics to identify systemic trends and root causes, prioritizing structural solutions and leading cross-functional work that delivers measurable and sustainable improvements.
  • Partner closely with Planning, Core Inventory Management, Merchants, Owned Brand, Supply Chain, and other enterprise teams to align priorities, navigate complex operational challenges, and drive accountability for shared business outcomes.
  • Lead the development and adoption of scalable performance management routines, tools, and capabilities, improving how Target and its business partners anticipate risk, manage performance, and continuously improve product flow.

About you:  

  • Four-year degree or equivalent experience 
  • 5-10 years’ experience in Inventory Management, Retail Supply Chain, or related field 
  • 2+ years leadership experience, direct leadership is preferred
  • Ability to initiate and grow relationships with internal and external leadership teams
  • Excellent ability to write and distribute content for external consumption
  • Excellent verbal communication skills and comfort to facilitate large meetings, give presentations and engage in vendor visits
  • Experience with SQL or other data-mining capabilities and statistical analysis
  • Available for occasional business travel

This position will operate as a Hybrid/Flex for Your Day work arrangement based on Target’s needs. A Hybrid/Flex for Your Day work arrangement means the team member’s core role will need to be performedboth onsite at the Target HQ MN location the role is assigned to and virtually, depending upon what your role, team and tasks require for that day.
