Job DetailsJob Location: The Beach Club Athletics - Minneapolis, MN 55416Position Type: Part TimeSalary Range: $22.00 - $25.00 HourlyLocation: The Beach Club Athletics - Minneapolis, MN Pay Transparency: $22.00 - $25.00 per hour (DOE); 15 hours per week) + $45.00 - $50.00 per hour for group fitness class delivery (DOE; up to 10 hours per week) ; Minimum rates may vary based on local wage laws. Pay depends on factors including site location, specialty, certifications, work experience, and other business needs.   Role and Responsibilities The Group Fitness Coordinator effectively manages all group exercise staff, programs and services at club(s) to maximize participation, member retention, club profitability and new member recruiting. Specific Responsibilities Essential Functions Development and implement Group Exercises classes that attract new members and contribute to the established member retention objectives and goals.  Recruits, hires, trains and supervises all group exercise instructors. Produces monthly class schedule and descriptions. Observes and participates in classes regularly to ensure quality control. Monitors class attendance weekly. Fills in as instructor for last-minute absences by staff (should be rare). Teaches a pre-established number of classes each week to establish and maintain credibility with members. Manages new program preparations and launches as needed. Evaluates and coaches instructors as needed. Maintains studio(s) in first class condition at all times including cleanliness and maintenance of equipment, floors, walls, etc. Meets regularly with center  housekeeping and maintenance personnel to inform them of any issues. Produces annual departmental budget accounting for all costs associated with effectively operating the department within parameters established by management. Reviews and submits semi-monthly payroll reports for Group Fitness Instructors. Submits purchase orders or expense reports for any and all departmental purchases according to established club guidelines. Personally addresses member suggestions and complaints as they arise in a way that leaves the member feeling “heard” and appreciated, while still protecting the interests of the center . Addresses any and all employee behavior issues in a fair and consistent manner according to established company guidelines. Assist in the handling of the operational ordering of supplies within budget guidelines. Resolve member and employee issues. Report on Payroll, maintenance orders and RCM issues. Be responsive to member feedback. Conduct new employee and quarterly staff safety trainings Administer emergency care to members and guests in need of assistance Work as a TEAM with all other departments Other duties and responsibilities as assigned by supervisor Other Functions Uphold Active Wellness written policies and procedures Enforce policies fairly and consistently Assist in managing department Operational Standards of Excellence (OSE) Conduct staff operational and safety meetings and trainings Prepare an annual budget for the department Review, verify, and be accountable for department payroll submissions Submits purchase orders or expense reports for any and all departmental purchases according to established club guidelines Ensure all department staff members maintain appropriate certifications/licenses/permits as required by their role Be knowledgeable about all programs and activities offered by Active Wellness Assist with keeping the club well stocked and clean Attend Active Wellness site meetings and trainings Handle injury and illness and security incident reporting Qualifications  Qualifications and Education Requirements 2 yr. management experience in fitness industry, Active employment a plus National Group Fitness Certification required (ACE, AFAA, IDEA, etc.), as well as necessary class-specific certifications (Barre, Yoga, etc.)  Must be detail oriented, organized and highly responsive with a commitment to customer service Strong verbal communication skills Basic computer skills, customer service skills, results oriented, ability to multitask, and commitment to the fitness industry AED/CPR/First Aid Certified Proof of citizenship or legal status   Physical and Working Conditions Ability to take the responsibility for the health and safety of others Ability to stand for several hours in a same shift; ability to lift 25 lbs Fitness club environment Must follow OSHA and Active Wellness safety standards Benefits Health, Dental and Vision Insurance (Full Time) Health Flexible Spending Account (Full Time) Paid Time Off (Full Time) Parking & Transit Flexible Spending Accounts 401(k) (Eligible after 1 year of service + 1000 work hours) Legal Support Plan Employee Assistance Program & Mental Health Support Service Complimentary Club Membership and Discounts on Active Products (where applicable)   This job description is intended to describe the general requirements for the position.
