Position Summary

The Senior Mechanic / Lead Technician will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a wide range of vehicles and equipment. The ideal candidate has extensive hands-on experience, strong troubleshooting skills, and the ability to manage complex repairs efficiently.

Key Responsibilities

  • Diagnose mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and performance-related issues
  • Perform advanced repairs and preventative maintenance
  • Inspect vehicles and equipment to identify needed repairs
  • Complete engine, transmission, suspension, brake, steering, and electrical work
  • Use diagnostic tools and software effectively
  • Maintain accurate repair records and communicate findings clearly
  • Ensure all work is completed safely and according to industry standards
  • Mentor junior technicians when needed
  • Maintain a clean and organized work environment
  • Test drive and verify repairs when necessary
Qualifications

  • 6+ years of professional mechanic experience preferred
  • Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting abilities
  • Experience with gas and diesel engines preferred
  • ASE certifications are a plus
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Valid driver’s license required
  • Strong attention to detail and work ethic
  • Welding and fabrication experience is a plus
  • Experience with heavy-duty trucks, sewer/drain equipment, or commercial vehicles is a plus
Skills & Abilities

  • Advanced mechanical knowledge
  • Strong electrical diagnostics experience
  • Ability to read technical manuals and schematics
  • Excellent problem-solving skills
  • Strong communication and teamwork abilities
  • Ability to lift heavy equipment and work in various conditions
