Technician, Optical Laboratory

Park Nicollet is looking to hire an Optical Laboratory Technician to join our Eye Care team!  Come join us as a Partner for Good and help us make an impact on the care and experience that our patients and their families receive every day. 

Position Summary:

Receives, records, and analyzes eyewear prescription orders for accuracy and manufactures ordered eyewear products utilizing various equipment and tools in accordance with department standards. Produces nonstandard surfaced lenses from semi-finished stock to meet prescription order specifications.

Work Schedule:

• Monday through Friday. 
• 7:30am to 4:00pm

Required Qualifications:

• Good communication skills. 

• Good hand dexterity. 

• Demonstrates knowledge of age-related growth and development principles necessary to provide appropriate service and assure safety of patients. 

• The incumbent must be able to proficiently utilize the following equipment: optical lab finishing and surfacing equipment; optical equipment and tools; telephone pager; fax machine; photocopier. 

• Understand optical lab computer & POS computer relating to orders.

Education, Experience or Equivalent Combination:

3 or more years of related experience is preferred.
