The Barista contributes to the success of 7 Corners Coffee by preparing high-quality coffee, espresso, specialty beverages, and food items while delivering exceptional customer service. In keeping with our mission of exceeding customer expectations, the Barista helps create a welcoming atmosphere that fosters community and enhances each guest's faith-life experience.

We are currently seeking an On-Call Barista to join our team for approximately 10–14 hours per week. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys a flexible schedule, is passionate about specialty coffee, and is excited to serve coffee with kindness.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Acts with integrity, honesty and knowledge
Promotes the values and mission of Seven Corners Coffee
Maintains a calm demeanor at all times
Is a positive example for the staff and volunteer team
Communicates effectively with team and customers
Executes store operations during scheduled shifts
Follows operational policies and procedures, including those for cash handling, food safety and security
Follows all cash management and cash register policies and ensures proper cash management practices are followed
Subscribe to and affirm the Statement of Faith and Covenant of Wooddale Church

QUALIFICATIONS

Barista experience in a retail or restaurant environment 1 year required
Knowledge, skill and ability working with high quality espresso machines and equipment and the products they create
Familiar with all aspects of coffeehouse operations in addition to barista including back bar, register, foodservice and steward
Ability to learn quickly
Effective oral communication skills
Strong interpersonal skills
Ability to work as part of a team
Ability to build relationships

WORKING CONDITIONS

This job operates indoors. The employee is regularly required to talk or hear and frequently required to stand, walk, use hands, and reach with hands and arms. Ability to interact with customers, standing for extended periods of time, kneeling and stooping to access ingredients and equipment. The physical demands described here represent those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.

BENEFITS & COMPENSATION
Minnesota Earned Sick and Safe Time will accrue at 1 hour per every 30 hours worked and the hourly rate is $16.45, depending on experience.
