Job DetailsJob Location: SPG - Minneapolis - Minneapolis , MN 55426Position Type: Full TimeSalary Range: $75,000.00 - $85,000.00 SalarySUMMARY: Supervises and coordinates activities of the manufacturing department.  Closely monitors all production operations and makes immediate adjustments to improve performance.    KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:   Actively promote and drive a culture of safety.    Customer On-Time Deliveries. Customer Quality. Reduction of Financial Variances.   These accountabilities will be measured by the following: Safety/Near Miss Reporting. Productivity. Quality. Work Instruction Adherence. Continuous Improvement/5S Implementation/Kaizen Events. Teambuilding.   KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: The Production Supervisor is responsible for Plant-Wide activities on their assigned Shift. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems. Develops and maintains a cross functional team to facilitate all production, material handling, and inspection needs throughout the shift.  Confers with other supervisors to ensure the production schedule and commitments are maintained. Directly interfaces with all facility departments within the organization to achieve goals and objectives.  Works closely with the Production Schedule to establish Production Priorities based on customer needs,  machine availability,  and labor constraints  Ensures departmental safety compliance to OSHA regulations, Near Miss and Corrective Action follow up for unsafe practices, and ongoing safety training.  Is a Key Member of the SPG-MN Safety Committee. Acts as an Emergency Responder on the shift; originates Accident Reports when an incident occurs for direct reports.  Supports the Injury/Accident Reduction Program. Improves production methods, equipment performance, and quality of product.  Suggests changes and implements those changes in working conditions and use of equipment to increase efficiency of shop, department, or work crew. Provides timely reports and analysis as requested concerning various key production indicators and measurements. Maintains necessary time and production records. Maintains the necessary controls and attitude to address and resolve personnel issues in a timely manner through the established progressive disciplinary action process. QualificationsEXPERIENCE, SKILLS, EDUCATION AND TRAINING: Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating/maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of the organization. Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.  Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to interpret bar graphs and rate charts. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry. Ability to apply common-sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations. Be detail oriented and accurate in all work performed. Associate degree (A.A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school and five to seven years experience in manufacturing environment.  Extensive experience may substitute for education.  Supervisory experience a must.
