Job Title: Dietary Aide/Dishwasher
Location: Minneola Healthcare – Minneola, KS
Reports To: Dietary Manager

JOB SUMMARY:

Under the general supervision of the Dietary Manager and the Cook, the Dietary Aide/Dishwasher helps prepare the residents’ drinks and doctor-ordered snacks and helps set up trays for meals. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in maintaining cleanliness and sanitation standards within our kitchen environment.

Responsibilities:

Prepares liquids for residents at mealtime.
Assists in preparation of salads/desserts as requested by Cook/Dietary Manager.
Sets up meal trays at mealtime.
Assists with cleanup of kitchen throughout the day and at closing time.
Wash dishes, utensils, and cooking equipment promptly and efficiently to maintain a clean and organized kitchen.
Ensure that all items are thoroughly cleaned, sanitized, and properly stored according to established procedures and health regulations.
Collaborate with kitchen staff to support smooth and efficient operations.
Adhere to safety protocols and guidelines to prevent accidents and maintain a safe working environment.
Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors to coordinate tasks and prioritize workload.
Maintain a positive attitude and contribute to a supportive and respectful work environment.

JOB RELATIONSHIPS:

Responsible to: Dietary Manager and Cook on duty.
Workers Supervised: None.
Interrelationships: Dietary Aide works closely with all Dietary employees and LTC nursing staff, as well as interacting regularly with residents, residents’ families, and staff from throughout the organization.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Ability to work efficiently and effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining cleanliness and sanitation standards.
Excellent teamwork and communication skills.
Willingness to learn and take on additional responsibilities as opportunities arise.
Must be able to read and write, make simple calculations, and follow oral and written directions.

WORKING ENVIRONMENT:

Works in clean, well-lighted, well-ventilated kitchen.

Stands and walks short distances throughout the workday.

Stoops for, reaches for, and lifts some small equipment.

Must be able to lift 10 pounds.
