The Role

We are looking for a Category Management Manager to work with retailers and manufacturers to provide category insights and analysis. This position will require the candidate to exercise discretion and independent judgment while providing retailers and manufacturers analysis and insights. The ideal candidate must be a confident, motivated individual with strong analytical skills and the ability to multitask across business lines.  

What You Will Accomplish                                           

• Gather and analyze syndicated and retailer data in order to provide unbiased insights on categories
• Present fact-based findings and recommendations to retailer buying teams
• Space planning, including planogram analysis and creation
• Deliver annual category reviews that meet all retailer objectives, including assortment, merchandising, profitability, and fit goals
• Manage and own the transition process (physical planogram set, financials, and planogram creation)
• Ad-hoc analysis where appropriate
• Act as a mentor to Category Management Analysts

What We Are Looking For

• You have 3-5 years of experience working with a major retailer or manufacturer
• You have a problem-solving mindset and willingness to challenge the established norms
• You are proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Excel
• You have been successful in roles requiring analytical skills
• You are comfortable with ambiguity and are a self-starter who takes initiative to explore
• You have been successful in Category Captain and/or Category Manager roles with Target or a National Retailer
• You have experience with syndicated data tools (IRI, Nielsen)
