The City of Minot is accepting applications for the position of Building Inspector IIĀ (Commercial Building Inspector)Ā in the Building Safety Department.Ā This position is open to all qualified internal and external applicants and will remain open until filled.
Nature of Work
This is responsible technical work involving the inspection of buildings and building construction for conformity to municipal and national building codes and other regulations, and the inspection of residential properties and the enforcement of housing codes. Individual positions specialized in particular areas of building inspection such as plumbing, electrical, and mechanical. Education, Experience, Other Requirements
- Possession of a valid North Dakota driverās license.Ā
- Graduation from high school and five years of experience in the construction industry.Ā
- Possession of certification as a commercial building inspector from the International Code Council.Ā

Compensation and Beneļ¬ts
- The assigned salary range for the position of Building Inspector IIĀ under the 2026 City of Minot Annual Pay Plan isĀ aĀ Grade 62, which has an earning potential of $28.19- $41.84 per hour ($58,627- $87,032 annually)Ā
- This is a full time, FLSAĀ Non-Exempt position eligible for overtime.

Veteransā Preference
Veteranās preference: Applicants who are residents of North Dakota and eligible to claim veteranās preference must include Form DD214.
